My research-based practice reinterprets applications of traditional art forms with emerging digital technologies through hybrid practices. Engaging various media forms as semiotic storytelling, I like to investigate the interconnections of emotional experiences and urbanism. Currently working on series of artworks depicting railways. I use painting as a therapeutic method that allows me to develop higher emotional creative aspects of our nature, which might otherwise have lain dormant.

My work is about survival, resilience and freedom. I am fascinated by the human condition to keep moving forward. The day-by-day fight for something important. That is what I am exploring. I want to capture the preciousness and the beauty of these emotions that make us feel alive. Central to my practice is the intention to break free from social expectations and let go of the obsession with perfection. Layer after layer, I try to break down the barriers within myself and delve deeper into the subconscious to find freedom in the abstract expression. Hidden memories and nostalgia are released to the surface in my search for a purpose in life. Through the physical layers of my works, conflicted feelings of sadness, pain, anger and happiness are being processed to make space for what comes next.

Bill Jarcho Odd, weird, whimsical-land is where I live as an artist. I have been making art since I was a kid and later fashioned a career out of it in animation, puppetry, illustration, and recently with my paintings and sculpture. This latest work is inspired by the abstract doodles I have been drawing for years and finally realizing that they could be turned into artwork that is both playful and unusual.
